Forever Held

Very glad I finally got around to this, such a lovely little game! The art and music are so beautiful and I really loved the use of physical description in the text!
Also I just wanted to mention that Windows Defender seemed to detect a virus false flag when I tried to open the downloaded version of the game. It was labelled as "Trojan:Win32/Bearfoos.A!ml", and I could find some threads of other games having false flags of the same name. I just thought it would be worth mentioning in case anyone else tries to play the downloaded version of the game and has the same problem. Probably better to just play the browser version anyways, it works very well!

10/10 made me want to die. Thank you. As someone who's been in Maven's position, I Understand too much I think. Really nice work!

The physical touches to the character writing, the inner thoughts bubbling over, everything left unsaid, it was all so gripping and emotional! Plus the artstyle of Ianthe and the effects/expressions were absolutely beautiful - the lighting/colors made it feel like we were in a dream with her...

Loved how the endings varied based on how open Maven decided to be with Ianthe... Even not clearly knowing the state of things between the trio, the tension was palpable and felt so real. I'm glad there's a path where things worked out for poor Maven!!

5/5, getting all the endings took me less than 5 minutes, but each route had me in tears, it's no longer than a short novella, but this short story made me cry the first route, each of the routes are beautifully written, from doomed love never meant to bloom, to an end with a happy story, and of  course, the end in between, words left to the wind. if you have the time, I highly suggest playing this.

Some extra notes on the other aspects of the game besides the story, the soundtrack is so gentle, it's only one song, but it fits for all the endings, it's soft and warm, gentle even, it's like a lullaby to fall asleep to. The art, though a single frame, is stunning, despite being a single CG with simple face alterations, it is able to exceed the emotions they where meant to express, I feel the angst, the fake smiles, simply looking at the piece is able to tear me down, and the writing does a perfect job with letting me imagine the scene,  it is so vivid, so heartbreaking, so beautiful. 

I applaud everyone who worked on this, as short as it may be, it is perfect, if not, the closest thing to perfection in my eyes. I truly hope their talents do not go to waste, thank you Dev for letting me experience this short story, I will be crying for the next couple of hours.

Ooooh, it was a bittersweet story, and yet I feel like the tenderness between Ianthe and Maven really shone through! The art was gorgeous, the music very pleasant, and the story was simple, yet it spoke volumes! The trope of letting the one you love go so that they can be happy is one I really cherish, and I think that's why I prefered this ending, but I'm glad the other existed too haha! Thank you for making this game!
